I have recently downloaded a movie that plays fine until one certain point of the movie, always at the same point. If I restart the movie and skip to a point just after the freeze the rest of the movie plays fine. Is there a way that I can re-encode the movie to fix this type of problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well if the video stream is already damaged then re-encoding in VirtualDUB will remove it BUT will definetly throw the audio right out of sync from that point to the end of the video file. Whenever I find a problem like that in any movie files all I do is wait for that part to come, pause the movie right before it and drag a little bit over it and press play again. You'd have to get used to it cause most files from the net have that problem.
