Hi there , I am trying to play a DivX encoded movie on my pc and it is all pixelated and blurry , my main dvd player refuses to play it even though it can play other divx movies , could it be security protection , I am running it through a divx to vcd file converter at the moment to see if that makes any difference , any help greatly appreciated.
Could be just that it was encoded at a very low bitrate. Doesn't really explain it not working on the hardware player though. Are you 100% it is DivX? Could be say MS MPEG-4 V2 or something else.
Hi thanks for your reply , it is definately divx , but I am pretty new at this how would I find out the bit rate and maybe fix it ?
Numerous apps can report the bitrate including some players. You can't fix it if that is the case. Post processing can help with the blocks, but it is also going to remove more detail.
