divx movies not playing/working?

    i have some divx files that wont play, they are not recognized in winamp, or divx player.

    how to i go about know what player and codecs i should use to get them to play?

    If you don't know what codecs, etc. the file uses, then what makes you say they are divx files?

    Try Media Info or similar to check what they are.

    @driggers
    If you try to open the files with Windows Media Player, it might tell you what codec you are missing(that's how I found out about Xvid and DivX). If you do have the proper codecs and player and it doesn't play, the files might be problematic(incomlete, corrupted...)
