I have downloaded a movie (.avi extension) and the picture seem excellent. By playing it through (RealOne Player, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, Divx 2.0 or even installing The Playa ...) I still have no sound. The audio does not seems to be compressed well. (or missing?) It seems that I have a codec missing but how could I know that (even with The Playa that reads non finished or corrupted files, I can not hear anything...) I have gone through your various topics in your forum and have opened in with VirtualDUB, selected "Direct Stream Copy", clicked Audio and Selected "Full Processing Mode",clicked Audio again and clicked "Compression",clicked "No Compression" and then ok Then I tried to save as .Avi and it asks for a codec...where can I get it? Thanks for your help
need to know what codec first.. in virtual dub, go to file->open, file->file information now look under audio stream for compression.
under Audio Stream \ Compression Sampling rate: 44100hz Channels: 2(stereo) Sample precision : 16-bit Compression: Unknow (tag0161) Preload skew: 10 samples (0.00s) number of frames:133987 Min -avg....: 372/372/3720(48679k) Hope this can help. Thanks
