Using either DVDx or A1 DVD Ripper, if I do a DivX rip with the MatroxDV codec, because I have a Matrox RTX100 card installed, the resulting avi file is perfect for video, but there is no audio information within Premiere Pro 1.5. If I open the same file in Windows Media Player, the audio is there. Why is that? If I use another codec, I get both video and audio, but the video quality is nowhere near as good, because it's not using the Matrox card.
try ripping the dvd without encoding first (dvdshrink or dvd decrypter). then encode the vobs ripped to your HD using the codec of your choice.
I've managed to rip the dvd into vobs using decrypter (shrink reports "Invalid DVD navigation structure"). I'm trying to convert the vobs into avi using dvd2avi, but I can't get it to work. Not much help available. What tool would you recommend?
