OK. I know this subject has been covered in part in previous posts but I am having problems here.

Where VideoPack used to give me one easy way of converting, cropping and burning to VCD/SVCD now it seems to have problems in burning the image to CD and sometimes encoding the video/audio. On the odd occasions when it does work I get no sound in the resulting MPEG.

So far I have used various combinations of TMPGEnc, VideoPack, BBMPEG (avi2mpg2), VirtualDub and CCE. However the end result seems to be the same each time.

I get the MPEG encoded and cropped and Nero tells me that it is not compliant, turn off standard compliance or re-encode. Neither work. I know that the standard reply to this is to re-encode using TMPGEnc but that is usually what I used to encode it in the first place.

The most recent guide I have used is this:

    http://www.dvdrhelp.com/avitovcdfoolproofusingcce

How do I check that the compliance settings are OK before encoding in TMPGEnc?

I have followed the instructions in the above link to the detail and nothing seems to be mentioned about VCD compliance.

    Any help is appreciated.

Excellent link. Sorted my problem out...somehow. Great quality on the converted SVCD as well.
