95% percent of my files play perfectly except for a certain batch that will not play on the xbox 360.

    here are its properties:
    frame width 576
    frame height 432
    Data rate 110 kbps
    Total bitrate 165 kbps
    Frame rate 23 fps

    Audio bit rate 55 kbps

I dont really have any experience with divx/xvid encoding, but im assuming id have to re encode it. Any advise or directions would be much appreciated.
    thanks

xvid files may have a couple of encoding options that some players
have difficulties with. They include QPEL and GMC.

Download mpeg4 modifier from http://moitah.net/ and open the problem files. Check to see if they have these options.

Used mpeg4 modifier and checked the files. Strangely enough though they did not include qpel and gmc. But the files were set to "square pixels" which i changed to 4:3 and sure enough it played.

Thanks for looking out Dave, much appreciated!

Sometimes just writing out the data this way (without re-encoding)
causes any anomalies in the data or header to be fixed.

Almost all avi's are "square pixels" - sounds like you got lucky!
