Have all your games got a .nds at the end. All DS games and most homebrew need this to play. I have an M3 Real and have no problems playing games. Rename the game adding .nds

I have an M3 real and have this problem often when trying to play the homebrew smash bros rumble game.

Sometimes it will boot just fine, more often it freezes on 'DLDI compatible' and I have to turn it off. I havent been able to find a solution for this but its the only homebrew I've had problems with so its not a huge deal.

If its playing games (even some) thats unlikely.

What software are you running (sakura 1.34 or M3 Real 4.2e) if 4.2e where did you get it from

Both the sites in my signature and www.handheldsources.com host the real software (there are fakes about).

Reload the software from a reputable site if it doesn't work its a fake, if it does the latest software should solve everything!
