    Hailz
i have a very bad issue with my dvd writer
i dont know why but the dvd writer keeps giving crc errors
now all of a sudden it showed that dma crc eror on dvd writer and it aborted the writing process

if it will help at all
i had a sony ide writer
which eventually got old and crap
i got a new samsung sata
this one always showed crc error
    i used nero ultra 7.2.0.3
then from start smart burning i shifted to burning rom

i had a problem once before also that the dvds took some 54 mins to burn
some blessed soul gave me a dma reset and it solved my problem [it has been almost a month since]
till now it worked flawlessly on the nero burning rom

    i have a windows xp
    p4 2.5
    845 motherboard
    1 gb ram
    2x500gb hdd

and if it would help this is my burning log where the crc was shown

1-Slow down write speed to 6x

2-Update the drives firmware, your update might be Win 2000/XP/Vista ST02.
    http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/...DBH/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support

NOTE: Samsung shows three firmware updates for your drive, to choose the correct one you have to know the drives buyer code...

Here's a snapshot from Samsungs site.
    - Caution
Global distributiion firmware is different by each model''s customer code.
Therefore, it''s recommend to check Customer code before upgrading firmware.

    - Upgrade Buyer Code : BEWD, RSMD, BEBD, BSBD

    - How to check Buyer Code :
When you upgrade your firmware, please check the ''Buyer'' on your label of drive.
If you upgrade wrong firmware, you will have a problem in operating.
    ex) SH-S223F/**** (****=Buyer Code)

    3-Try using different media.
