hey guys i don't have a router so i have my xbox connected to my PC then to my modem. I know, i know it looks like a bridger's setup, but i'm not a bridger cause i hate cheating and i don't play Halo 2 (go counter-strike). I have been using this setup since 2003ish (when rainbow six 3 was big) and have had no problems. I stopped playing xbl for about a month and returned to play yesterday, but i couldn't sign on and my xbox took me to the troubleshooter. it said "DNS error" and something about DNS not being able to resolve. so i looked it up and did what a lot of different websites told me to do (power cycling, changing the MAC address, going into cmd and doing all this ipconfig stuff), but i still can't sign on. any tips? thanks

ok so your connecting to XBL using a crossover cable directly from PC i would go check the settings on your main connections and make sure you have internet connection sharing on, or you have bridged connections.......
