DO I HAVE TO FLASH MY CHIP

    I JUST HAD A MODCHIP INSTALLED IN MY XBOX AND I KEEP TRYING TO CONNECT FROM MY PC THROUGH FLASHFXP I HAVE A CROSSOVER CABLE CONNECTED I KEEP GITTING THE MISSAGE CONNECTION FAILED (CONNECTION REFUSED) DO I HAVE TO FLASH MY CHIP OR SOMETHING I HAVE READ HOW TO SETUP MY SETTINGS AND THINK I GOT THEM RIGHT

    Thought the same thing Lethal_B when I read it. All i could see was a guy in a trench coat flashing his chip.

    @Frontosa we need more information. Give us your Xbox netwrok settings and your computer NIC card network settings. Lets see if these are right first.

    did you have one of those sites install it for you? if so, they didn't put on the bios you *NEED* to do all this additional stuff, team Xecuter's site has very good tutorials (for there chips)

    what kind of chip you have?

    or you may just have the connection set up wrong,
    as many people do. Like forgetting to set up the LAN connection
    and setting up the main connection for network sharing, which i was guilty of when i first did it.
    Had all the settings right and still no connection.
    then i set the main connection up for sharing, it assigned an IP to
    the LAN connection and i redid the Xbox settings to go with it.
    Like if LAN was 198.158.0.2
    the xbox was set to 198.158.0.3
    and the connection was there
    the subnet mask and default gateway will be the same for both.

    you also have to set up FlashFXP with all the xbox IP info
    to make a connection.
