I have burned 200+ movies with nero vision. since I recently performed a complete scan/clean of my PC, I have been getting a [burn process failed] error. I can encode perfectly, but when it comes time to burn it fails, and gives me a log(i will post at the end).I have the latest version of nero 8, along with vision5(i previously used vision4) but i'm still getting the same burn error.

I also installed the latest version of ImgBurn, to attempt another program to try to burn. It reads playable DVD's perfectly, but again when trying to burn the image that I just read, I get this error message-----

    I/O Error

    Device:[3:0:0] LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S BPSA (E:)(ATA)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    CDB: 2A 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 20 00
    Interpretation: Write (10)- Sectors: 32-63

    Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 2C 00 00 00 00 00
    Interpretation: Comand Sequence Error

    -----------------------

I have used the same media(sony) without issues for a few years now.

It maybe a coincidence that I preformed a scan and reg clean, and now my burner no longer writes, but I belive I need a new burner.

also conver x todvd will actually write, but the dvd is not playable in a stand alone player, but is playable in my PC. not sure what to make of that.

Very hard to read log since it does not fit in the window correctly.
Did you create a System Restore point before performing a registry clean? You most likely removed something you should have not? If you roll back the registry to the time just before the registry clean, this may correct the issue. If not, uninstall Nero with a the Nero clean tool and reinstall. What are you trying to copy?

sorry about the window size, not sure how to fit it properly. I do not have a restore point far enough back. I would need one about 10-14 days ago, I have done a couple of reg cleans, and I've done a complete uninstall with remove tool, a few times. I also think I may removed something that shouldn't have, like a DLL or something. The last time this happened (reg clean-then error) I had to do a system restore. I would really prefer not to do this again as it will reset the PC to it's "out of the box state" (a nightmare for me)

is there a program that could tell me which files I am missing.

Over at the top right of you message block there is a paper with pen icon, click this to edit. Highlight and deleting your log report. This information is not needed. When you make changes to your
system. You should always create a restore point. However, since you do not have a restore point to roll the registry back, you will have to perform a System Recovery. What brand and model computer? What Operating System? Is your recovery on a HDD partition, or do you have CD's?
