ok well i am a total n00b i dont know if this was the right place this but i got 2 or 3 questions at the max!!! so please answer them.

    1. ok here i go- well i ordered the spider chip v1.1, i already down loaded the plain m8 bios 256kb and burned it corectly along with a dummy file of 100mb will that work so far to flash the bios assuming that the chip installation goes great?!?!

    2. k after i get it flashed with m8 evox bios can i play back up games like that or do i have to install the evox dashboard, because the only reason im getting a chip is to play my game back ups... so is it necissary to install the dash? please answer my questions even if its in the wrong place!!!

Hi, once the chip is flashed correctly you play your backups off the original HD and dash. The only reason you would install Evox or any other dash is if you want to save games, music, emulators.or apps to a larger HD.

First off do you have a ver 1.6 xbox? if not then why m8 bios, cuz some of the m8 bios won't work for older ver's even if they say they do, but m7 work just the same but for older ver's. but if it works it works if it doesn't then don't say someone didn't tell you so or at least warned you (true you have other banks but even then what could happen lol)

you can play games just like normal even with the chip installed, but the unclear thing is this:

yes you play your backups off the original hdd or the upgraded hdd or off DVD Backups of you games. But you can't backup you games without other programs so i don't know how you play "Your backups" (just saying and i understand), but if you want to backup your games, use apps like XBMC or emulators yes you do need some type of dashboard so you can access them cuz if you look at the original MS dashboard i don't see anywhere to access Applications or Games.

Did I hear you correctly when you said?!?!

Please praytell me how to lauch Games off the HDD from the M$Dash? Because I never thought something like that was popsible. (not in Retail anyway),.

To the OP if you still have mostly Stock equipment (i.e. HDD, Dash etc), you could try backing up your Dive then by repartitioning it free up to Two extra GiB's on that HDD. It's addmitily not much. But Live!™ and Retail Firmware can not read the F:\ Partition. So you can just about place anything there and not have to worry about getting Baned off Live!™.

But, you will need some kind of Dashboard replacement. Evox is the simplist of them all. But, is way way outdated. The best Dashboard replacement at the moment is Avalauch. It's as stable (if not more so then EvoX and display 3d Game Icons as well.) If your lookng for something really smart then I'd recomend trying XBMC. Which like Wine just improves with age and almost every new version is better then the last. and there is one more thing going for XBMC. Unlike Evox that never saw the end of 2002! or Avalauch which had it's last upgrade for over a YEAR NOW! XBMC has regular Monthly updates.

Now it it only would support TeamAvalauch's 'Boost Mode' for Quix! I'd use XBMC myself!!

Well, I have the Xenium Ice so what I did was flash the bios with the original HD in before I upgraded to the larger hd and the backups played with no dash installed off of the hacked bios, then again the Xenium has it's own OS system, therefore I was able to launch the bios from the OS system..... Not sure how the Spider Chip is???? I don't think it has it's own OS system so that wouldn't be possible without a HD upgrade!! Plus you would need a second Xbox with a dash installed to be able to backup the games or have a buddy that could back them up for you? I'm Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.....Later
