do not understand bin! hElp

hi, im new to alllllll of this and i just downloaded a new game , and it was in a strange file called bin. and i was reading some of the forums and i dont really understand.??!? how do i open this file ??? and i have no cue file that goes with it.

any ideas??

bin files, oh yes...
well the easiest way to help you would be to tell you to use Nero.
just open Nero, select 'disc image or saved project' select your drive to burn to, [bold]BURN[/bold].
toodles...

 

If you want to burn the .bin with Nero, you WILL need the .cue file.

Download Cueator (it will make a .cue file for you).

Here is the link:

Once you have a .cue file saved in the same directory as the .bin;

1. OPEN Nero Burning Rom
2. Select 'Recorder'
3. Select 'Burn image..'
4. Select your new .cue file

Burn away....burn 8X or less for best results.

o shit i actually made a cue file, so now i burn the cue file and the bin file together as an image???

 

i want to noe if i made the cue file right... its a game bin file and i chose the cueator to make a cue cd rom file .. and yeaa i went on and experimented and burned the cue file but wen i tried to open the cd there was nothin in there ... any ideas??

 

There is the possibility your .bin file may be too big for the cd.

Some downloaded .bins are like this, too large for a single CDR.

1. Try to convert the .bin image to an .iso image with WinIso or UltrIso.

UltraIso is not free, this is a trial version only good up to 300MB.

Once the .bin is in .iso format burn with Nero:

1. OPEN Nero Burning Rom
2. Select 'Recorder'
3. Select 'Burn image..'
4. Select your .iso image

If all else fails, and you have a DVD drive burn the .bin as a 'data'-dvd with Nero to at least be able to get it off your hard drive.

If you want you can install the .bin as an image via a virtual drive.

To do this, you will need Daemon Tools:

Install Daemon Tools and 'Mount' the .bin image and it will run just like a cd/dvd in your drive. You can also use 'my computer' to open it up and browse it.

If it asks for CD 2(if there is one), unmount cd1's .bin(or .iso) image and mount cd2's .bin(or .iso) image.

You may note, don't be alarmed, if you install Daemon Tools, you will see a new drive in 'My Computer'

ie.. if you cd-burner is E/:

you will now see drive F/:

F/: will be Daemon's virtual drive.

Daemon Tools also supports various emulations for cd - back -up images of varying protections.

wut do i do with the cue. that i made with tha cueator

 

ok i just installed daemon and mounted tha bin file . but wen i tried to open tha drive in my computer it always freeze up.. any ideas??

 

This will burn the .bin image to a cdr for you.

As to why your machine is freezing up, what are your pc specs and OS?
