Been using DVD x Copy which works great. Tryed to use DVD Srink to see the differance. Saved the movie to my hard drive. On the guide it REF burning with NERO. Do you have to use this program to burn DVD. If not were can you get information on how to burn. Using Pinnacle to copy and burn. Will this work

    Nero evaluation version here
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/nero.cfm

Guide how to use Nero here
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm

    But...
you don't need Nero. You can use other software, too. Don't know about pinnacle, but here's a handy tool
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/imgtool_classic.cfm
    and you need DVD Decrypter
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm

ImgTool creates an image of the directory you have made with DVD Shrink and automatically opens DVD Decrypter and burns the disc. If you want to manually select the burning speed, first open DVD Decrypter in ISO write-mode, set the speed and close the program. ImgTool will then automatically open it again and use the speed you chose. It's really simple to use and it's free.

    Hope this helps!

no, you don't need nero to burn.

Nero and recordnow max are the most successful burning programs. Other programs also will work like clone dvd, pinnacle, burnatonce(free but will only do dvd-r), etc. You don't technically need decrypter except that it is a good tool to have for the occasional disc that shrink is unable to rip.(Decrypter will only burn iso's which is why ketale described that imgtool algorithm)

    Guys,
This is great, but I still do not have my answer. I do not have NERO using pinnical program to burn disks. Can I use this program and if so how do I use it. Shrink is a free program. I hate to go out and spend another $100 dollars for a program when I already have 321 X copy gold. Told this is a better program but I don't want to have to but NERO to use. Would like to see the differance.

nero = good CD program excellent for CDs

Pinnacle = heard it is OK but not excellent (only what ive heard)

shrink = free, and relativly simple if u read a guide or two

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm

personally i use CloneDVD and AnyDVD thay are a bit expensive.... but for me they are very good

DVD XCopy's (platinum, express) i stay away from they can do good quality but they put a watermark and a 15 warning on the front which i just cant tolerate

nero is simple enough if u get it the manual will tell u what u need to know but basicly u shrink then open up nero select DVD then select burn current DVD project it gets the shrinked VIDEO_TS folder and burns it voila easy backup

there u go make your mind up on what u want for your particular needs

    canieves,

if you don't want Nero and you can't figure out how to use Pinnacle, try the ImgTool & DVD Decrypter combination, it's free and really simple to use and I have used it for over 50 succesful burns with no coasters!

Refer to my first post for downloads and instructions.

Hope this helps! And don't be confused by all the fuss people throw at you! :)
