I am using XP. When you move a file on the same logical disk only the directory changes? Just making sure.

I have had some problems moving files from one disk to another. I will be using TeraCopy for that, I was just making certain I run no risks moving stuff around on the same disk.

dunno about xp.. usually when you "move" a file between directories on the same partition all that happens is the file table is updated.. the data doesn't move

That is what I thought it would be stupid to do it any other way. Still, I is even more stupid not to get a second opinion when it is so easy to do so.

I had been moving hundreds of gigs of data to discover about .5% of the files were corupt. Some bad, some not very bad. I have been upgrading .5 TB to tb drives to up my space. This last drive I only copied. I am doing some heavy spot checks before I clean the disk. I am busy QAing as much as possible since I have randomly found coruption where I least expected it. I REALLY do not want to actally have to pay to find replacements for what I can get for free now.

How is Down Under? I guesss there is more sun. About where are you located?
