Hi everybody. I am new to DVD world so I am not very familiar with the terms. Every time that I watch a DVD-disc that has the dolby digital 5.1 ad on the case, my DVD player (PanasoniC S-35) shows a message like this: "English Dolby Digital 3/2.1 ch". Is that 3 channels or is it 5.1 channels?
    Thanks

    LOL......nice question.....

    In simple terms:
    Dolby 5.1 - pertains to 6 speakers (5+1)
    3/2.1 ch - pertains to 6 speakers (3 Front + 2 Rear + 1 Subwoofer)

The above are the same, just it is known as Dolby 5.1, but a lot of amplifiers display it as 3/2.1 and others display it as Dolby Digital 5.1
