I’m still trying to convert .mpg4 to Divx and get it on a playable disc. I used DivX Converter to convert my test.mpg4 to a test.Divx. Then I tried dragging it to a DVD and that failed. How can I get the file on to a disc that my DivX certified DVD player will play? What type of media do I use?
you could convert the file with convertxtodvd, so you can put it on a dvd, but for dvix, you can put that file on a cd
Thanks for the reply. If I convert the file, won't the size increase dramatically and the format cease to be divx. I thought the whole object was to get things into .divx for better quality at reduced size. Another question. What does Virtualdub have to do with divx? The divx tutorials always start me at Virtualdub, but it won't except my .mpg4 files so I can never follow it.
have you tried just burning the mpg4 as a data disc? Some DIVX/VXID certified players can play mpg4 w/o needing to convert. as for media, DVD-/+R/RW ,CD-R can be used. If yer planning on getting more than one on the disc, Id go with usin DVD-/+RW
