Hi - I have Nero 7 Premium (with Nero Vision, Recode, Burning Rom, Nero Express, etc). I have some Video TS files on my PC hard drive which I know how to burn onto a DVD disc. I've also recorded some tv series episodes on my DVD recorder but these are in VR mode because I wanted to edit them. When I put the disc in, the PC just recognises the VRO files. I have copied this and renamed it to an MPEG file so my DVD playing applications can actually play it. Trouble is that all episodes are now just one big vro to mpeg file. Two questions really. Basically which is the best way to combine both methods (ie dvd recorded and PC) to end up with one DVD disc that will play in both PC and standalone DVD players? I'll burn everything onto a DVD-R. I noticed I can import a DVD-VR into Nero and edit it there but how do I then get this burnt onto a DVD that will actually play as a movie in standalone players? Or should I just convert all the VRO files to MPEG and use Nero Vision to create a DVD with title buttons and import all my Video TS and MPG files into that? I'd be grateful for any advice, especially the easiest and quickest way of achieving my objective. I also have DVD-Decrypter, DVDShrink3.2, ImgBurn, RipIt4Me and FlashDVDRipper.....if any of these can come into the mix to make it easier! OR....would I be better just recording in DVD-Video mode on my dvd recorder (which doesnt allow me to edit on the fly) and just edit instead within Nero). I don't even know what type of files recording in DVD-Video mode would produce. Many thanks in advance.
answered above but abit confused at your final goal? well i know your goal a dvd of course, but whats on it and how you want it to work and how its setup... you can take the vob files and make ifo/bup for each with ifoedit, so all separate dvd-video/video-ts for adding to apps... if i can worjk out "exactly" your aim i will try help further...
If you wish to keep using the .vro format so that you can edit on the recorder, then you know the disks aren't playable on another device except the recorder. Later, if you want to create a playable DVD and there are multiple episodes on the .vro disk, they must be separated if you want a selection menu. A simple way is to use AVIDemux to load the renamed .vro file (now named .mpg) and use the editing feature to select sections and save them. Open the file and let it be indexed if required. On the left side of the screen, 'Video' and 'Audio' should be set as 'Copy';the 'Format' should be 'MPEG-PS' Use the slider and the 'A' 'B' buttons to mark the length of the first segment to save. 'File' 'Save' 'Save Video' and give it a name including extension, e.g. part1.mpg Repeat for all required titles. Load the individual titles into DVD Flick (choose the appropriate video settings, i.e. NTSC or PAL) and create a DVD with a corresponding menu. DVD flick recognizes that the video is DVD compliant and the process goes faster. AVIDemux is simply copying the original without processing too.
