now edonkey has gone down the Root of having spyware built in, does anyone know of any other similar p2p software? I gave emule a go for a while but dont like it much. What do other peeps use that is free?
Limewire is what a fair few people use..... If you can use torrents they can also be good [EDIT] beat me to it Glitched :Þ
I find that a decent torrent program is the fastest however only fast on the newer titles. Ps don't go for bitlord very fast but also has spyware/adware attached!
well i personaly think if you are looking for a cool, very good file sharing progams you cant go wrong with Limewires and Bitcomet! p.s. if you download bitcomet try looking for torrents in websites like torrentspy.com,torrentz.com, or torrentreactor.net they should have a whole list anyway in the program when you download. thats all.
When using private torrent sites dont use bitcomet as it is banned on just about all private sites.. i recommend µtorrent as it doesnt use much system resources, you can still browse the internet without be slowed down, and you can set how much bandwidth you want a torrent to use
Here's a trick that I've seen a "tech savvy" friend use. As long as you like free stuff and don't mind having spyware(specifically a data miner) [bold]which you can control[/bold], then this might interest you. Use the free version of Bearshare which has whenusave bundled with it. Now this is the data miner and a real nuisance. Install the free version of Zone alarm and any other firewall which allows you to block whenusave from accessing the internet. You can even remove the part of the whenusave installation from add/remove programs in control panel. Even though it says that if you remove whenusave that bearshare wont work, it actually does. Maybe this could work for edonkey as well if you know the bundled spyware but you'd have to experiment and let us know.
cheers guys. I`m trying limewire at the mo. seems alright so far. i`l give bitcomet a go to and see how it fares. How many people no longer use edonkey now its got all that bundled cr@p with it?
