    I get this download message from Windows when I start my computer. It tells me that there is an updated firmware available for my DVD burner, but even after I download it still comes up. What does this mean and what do I do?

    my never did that... and iv been using my burner for 2 years now... :/

    Maybe you have some auto-updater installed that runs on startup.

    What is your burner? What operating system? Do you have a firewall? What software do you use to burn with?
    How much info do you see active from your online connection?
    It may not have registerd the update, or checks on every boot.
