When u download, you also upload? - Not if you download a file from a website, you just download. If you are downloading torrents, yes you upload. if you DL you should also UPload some be nice.... now this "or updates for youre firewall" What do you mean? as for "how come?" like above, if you download somethign someone else helped to upload. you should "share". (its not right) its not right to download stuff either in some instinces Most torrent sites only allow you to download if you upload. if you have a Poor upload ratio, they wont let you download. so that would be another reason to upload.
Also with most torrent clients if you dont upload 1:1 the other people who were downloading from you will automatically ban your IP... That prevents you from downloading from them in the future... The [bold]WHOLE[/bold] bittorrent community is based on uploading...
