Hi All, First post here, but this looks like an awesome forum...tons of info. Sorry if this has been posted before, but I had zero luck finding an answer to this question with the search button. I'm wondering if there is a program that will allow me to batch convert my MP3s from the higher bitrates I save them as down to 128mbps for transfering to my portable player? THe kicker is I REALLY want a converter that will maintain the info in the ID tags when I compress them. Blaze software seemed like the answer but all the tag info was lost in the compression. My measly 2gb player doesn't hold many songs at 192kbps, but all the info for my albums is listed in the ID tag, otherwise I end up with hundreds of songs named "01-Songname here" with just track numbers and names, no clue as to artist. I archived them by folders with Artist/Album name and the song is just the name and track number. The ID tag important piece in getting this to work with the IPOD. Thanks for any help. Gipper
http://nch.com.au/switch/ Try this program. It's free. When the trial period ends the program will still do anything you need. Good luck.
or you could use mediamonkey, it can allow you to rip your cds at high bitrates and it has a autoconversion to lower bitrate setting while its copying songs to your mp3 player. it supports almost all mp3 players as well.
