I recently had my old cdrw drive replaced with a cdrw dvd combo drive and the computer guy installed Nero on my computer. The drive works fine playing cds & dvds, but when I try to use files after I save them to the cd it tells me I can't because they are read only files. Before with Quicken I would format the cd for data and just use the backup function in the Quicken program and it would work. Now it acts like there is no cd. Even when I go through the process of copying the necessary files to the cd through the burning process, I still can't use them as you would on a floppy or as I did before. What am I doing wrong?
You need to use the packet writing software program available from Nero, which is InCD to do this. Check here it will explain about using InCD and Quicken. However, you must use CD-RW disks to do this the program only accepts this format. ftp://ftp6.nero.com/Support_doc/PDFInCD/Quicken.pdf
