suggest you do not put an internal drive in a dm800 unless you wish to unit to melt. google the topic

I was about to purchase the dm800 from volumerate.com but have found a few reviews saying this may be a dodgy site and that they are a chinese outfit piggy backing volumerates.com. do you have any feed back on this or would you suggest a better site to purchase.

to be honest i've finally packed in the dreambox route. now don't get me wrong. great box. but i've just ordered a vu+ duo (original, no clones as far as i know). reason is hd channels are flakey on the dm800 clone. what really bugs me about the box is the single tuner. the vu+ has a dual tuner so i can record and watch at the same time. its expensive but from all vibes the best box on the market. will let you know if you are interested in spending 500 euro on a receiver

am always interested in something different. had a look at some sites and it comes well recomended. This is my 1st. outing into the sat world having had several generations of the eurovox and been stung at the end with nag3 although I do believe there is movement afoot out there. If im going to get something this sounds good. do forward some info and ill chat with the bank manager

ok, so vu+ duo arrived this morning. not as pretty as the dm800 but thats about it in terms of negatives. its just brilliant. hd quality is perfect. i've spent years messing with my dm800 clone and still had freezing. all a thing of the past. so if you have the cash i very much recommend the vu+ duo. got it from mark at satstore.co.uk. nice guy and arrived when he said it would

389 sterling plus 20 postage. having said that god is it worth it. this box is the real article. over the last few years with the dreambox it has been torture trying to sort images for different bootloaders and crap tuners and crashes and software that doesn't work and... the list goes on. in two hours the system is up and running and staggeringly good. its worth every penny. the only problem now is that i've nothing to try and solve anymore. by the way i didn't even power up the box with its image. i put the dream elite image on straight away. and that is just fab. i've been using a limited version of dream elite on my dreambox for the last 6 months. now i have a real box (no more clones EVER) and the image is simply fantastic

funny thing rooney is that i just supplied brother with couple of in-line amplifiers for his sky hd box. he was constantly seeing freezing on his hd channels using sky box. only proves you really have to pay for quality. even the sky boxes are rubbish. google the issues that sky customers have and you begin to appreciate the problem.
