are you looking to enter in codes mate , try the yellow button and then press ok on tuxbox, then press ok on var.dir,press ok on keys.dir ,and go to keyslist.txt and highlight it (dont press ok)press number 4 on your remote . the menu for entering codes should pop up now. when your finished press exit and save. press menu and choose shutdown and reboot , when the box starts up you should see something like (starting evocamd)thats your emu starting up.

what dreambox does he have and is it a clone or an original , and is it for cable or satellite. i use 2 dm500s boxes (for satellite) and i put nabilosat darkstar11 image on both and it works fine(its a clone safe image) for cable a different image is needed. he will need a null modem cable (9 pin male to 9 pin male) and he will have to download a bit of software called dreamup. dreamup is what you use to send the image in to the box via the null modem cable. he also will need to download an image(the one above is great for satellite) for cable images click on the link in my signature area and choose dreambox , in there you will get dreamup and you will see images to download. when you have the null modem cable and the dreamup and the image get back to me and ill talk you through flashing the box. oh he will need a computer with windows xp (not vista) to flash the box.
for firmware for a cable dreambox such as the dm500c just click on the link in my sinature area(at the bottom of this post) you will see two images one is dw(digital worlds) the other is dk(digital kaos) you will also be able to get dreamup in there also. for satellite dreambox google nabilosat darkstar11 and you will see lots of sites giving free downloads. you will notice the images end with .rar or .zip , these files will not open by simply clicking on them you will need a bit of software to open them, i use peazip its easy to use. so when you google for the image google peazip also and download it. you will then have all you need to flash the box.
that should be ok ,dont forget to get peazip also or a program like it. peazip opens .rar and .zip files.
first off use winrar to open the file containing the image , i would say you should open a new folder and call it something like dreambox and store all your files or images in there to find them easy later. ok now connect the box and computer together using the null modem cable (do not plug in the box). now open dreamup on your computer ,first off look at the com ports (it should say com1 and com2)we will try com1 first .now click on connect ,in the dialog box you should see connection prepared , now plug your box in , in the same area where you see connection prepared you will see more writing saying things like talking to box etc. now click on where it says flash .now you are in the part of the program that you find the image(it may be on screen already,if not you can search from where you are) when you see the image (nabilosat image) click on it and click open or enter. now you are back on the first part of the program . now click flash , you will see on screen (perform a flash erase ,and options yes and no ,choose no , all being well your box is flashing now and more writing will appear in the dialog box , wait untill it says flashing complete and was successfull on screen in the dialog box (this can take up to 15 minutes). now only when flashing is complete click on disconnect and un connect the null modem cable.your box is flashed now , if it failed you will need to go back and change com1 to com2 and follow the instructions above. you will then need to connect the box to the tv via scart and of course connect the satellite cable to the box . now follow the onscreen prompts to get your box installed and to scan for channels on the satellite , when all this is done press menu ,number 5,and on reboot press ok button. your box will now restart and you should have all the free to air channels. get back to me and let me know how you got on. there is a bit more to do to get cccam setup ,just do the first stage first.
can anyone tellme how i can sort my dreambox out...its been restored to its factory settings so now got no channels
crutey you flashed the box with nabilosat darkstar11 yes and you have it connected up to your router with the ethernet cable is that what you are saying . if so you can now get cccam 2.1.3 and then you can get ready to edit it to put in what needs to be put in. yummy mummy did you get your box working.
thats great it can take about 10 minutes ,when you hook it up to the tv the first thing you need to do a reboot , press menu ,then press number 5 (shutdown and reboot )and press ok . the box should restart now .you should have all the free to air channels now.
