hi i'm in a bit of a panic i've been using starview for a couple of years but due to n3 i've purchased a dreambox 500 s, my brother has one and gets his channels from a mate, now being a bit niave i thought you just got a card and away you go,but my brother says he has no card and its all done down the phone to a router which is connected to the box,now its no trouble moving the modem and router near to the box but i'm on virgin for my phone line and i dont know whether dreambox will work through a virgin line or does it need to be a bt line, sorry if questions a bit vague but i really dont know anything about the dreambox and unfortunately my brothers mate is away for a couple of weeks so cant ask him. cheers
thanks for reply i'm on virgin broadband but i was told the signal was sent through the phone line to the box to give me all the channels. as i said i have'nt a clue
you need to have a look at the thread called shy channels on sat with dreambox 500s it explains what you need to know, you can find it in the list of all updated threads .what your brother does is called cs(card sharing)you would need a little experience of computers and a lot of patience ,but its very do able. have a look at the thread its long but very interesting ,you could also check out the other threads titled dreambox in the same section . if you have any questions ask them on the above thread ,that way all info regarding cs is in the same place .
hi pudzy mate ,no luck with the driver ive been trying a few days now .might be that there is no driver for it .
in the smart reader tools there are only 3 drivers ,dm600 ,dm800,dm8000 (if i remember right) but there is no driver in there for the dm7020 .i had a good look around but no luck.
