dreambox to router

evening all , im having trouble connecting dreambox and router.. just got broadband and trying to talk to dreambox with DCC(dreambox control centre)but says dreambox login failed.. im new to broadband now guys ..any help or point me in right direction.. by the way im using dreambox 500t..

 

i have made contact,,with dreambox and router,, says boot manager not found, any help

 

username is root, password is dreambox. you use a standard network cable between router and dreambox, not loopback. the easiest way to see if all is ok is to press menu on your remote control, go into setup, then go into network connections. you should see that DHCP is ticked and an IP address should be displayed for your dreambox whcih should be something like 192.168.1.x. Can you confirm that you have this for starters. The IP shown is then used to connect to the box using DCC

 

thanks m8, got it connected,i put few games on box for the kid, keep him happy.. i want to install newcamd so i can get rom 10 nagra1 card to work in box.. all this is for trial reasons only,,when mmds goes nagra3 , i hope to have enough knowlege about dreambox,, any help

 

I haven't used newcamd, only mgcamd and evocamd. Anyway all of these emulators are available via the addons panel on your dreambox now that you are internet connected. So first step is to use the blue button on your remote control to download your emualtor of choice. Last is to load key files. To do this you use flashfxp. You put the keys in /var/keys/ and /var/scce/. Just duplicate the same files into the keys and scce directories. The key files can be found in eamos library, just look at 'mickah's signature and you will find the link to the library

try to ftp newcamd to dreambox ,, now newcamd is in tmp folder but cant set it as cam.. i have dk_1.1 image on box with evocamd keys and roms as well... was thinking if i delete image, install darkstar 11 image cams allready n that image..set newcamd up. will this work on mmds as i want to try rom 10 card in it.. i have bk and ird.. kids are my problem so time is limited in evenings.

 

the easiest way to install a cam is via the download menu. if you put it in /tmp/ then you need to do a manual install of the plugin for it to be available on the system
