I'm going to buy a Dreamcast (i'm a little bit late, i know ^_^) and I know that is possible to run backups. I heard that everything is fine with DC produced before october2000, but the "new" ones have protections. Is it possible to run a boot cd to avoid the protection? If the DC I'm going to buy will come with a MODCHIP to run import games, it will run backups even if it it produced after oct2000? Thank you in advance!
dude im not sure where ur from, but i dont even know where u culd possibly find a dreamcast anymore. I havent seen dreamcasts around in years the games have all been discontinued and the system is done with. Im sorry i cant help u much but the dreamcasts are long gone where i live.
Then why bother to respond. If you can't help, please spare us from your worthless post. The machines made after that date can't play CD-Rs. So a boot disc will not work because like a backup the boot disc is on a CD-R, too. You will need to chip it in order to play "backups". If you find a machine made before that date, you can use a boot disc or backups that are self booting. I think liksang.com still sells chiped Dreamcasts and games. Good luck.
I have a dreamcast which is collecting dust, i was thinking it would be good until they discontinued it, does anyone think it will be worth alot in a few years?
