dreamup or flash wizard to flash dreambox 500

    have got a dm500v8,,,it has a gemini 4 image on it,,,i want to flash a darkstar 2 image at it as recommended by piopat,,,the dreamup connects with but does not boot up my dm500v8..i have tried different com ports to no avail.
    will it be safe to flash the darkstar using flash wizard.

    Try older version of dream-up, 1.3.3.4 I think works ok. There are problems with later
    versions of dream-up. With correct version of dream-up & null modem cable it is virtually
    fail safe. You can also have problems using USB-9pin lead. Use a P.C. with 9-pin connection
