My DVD+RW/CD hp combo will not read any media except a CD. Trying to get this sorted out and I've got messages flashing up saying "Exception in Display Run Map.Run Map"-----What the hell does that mean ?. Can't find anything fitting that in search. Also, in the event system log :Multiple errors are showing and the "service control manager" is the "culprit". If any one has a clue what these issues are refering to, I really would appreciate some input. Maybe the drive is just dead. It does everything it used to though, except work with DVDs. Thanks.
Could try uninstalling and reinstall the burner from device manager. However, easiest way to check drive is to put in another comuter and see if it works properly or not. I have a feeling it won't and you'll need a new burner.
Yes. thanks, I think so too. I have a spare PC in the closet I could try it in. The strange thing is ALL CD options still work fine , music, date, installation of programs. DVD, invisible ! Now,what to buy !
I have a DVD ROM drive that no longer reads any CD. Music, data, game, store bought, burned = all the same. However, will read a DVD! It is the opposite problem but the explanation (bad drive) is probably the same.
