pulled my camera case off the shelf the other day and someone had left my camcorder on top of the case rather than in it. end result is that i now have seven grey lines across my screen in playback mode. Any ideas on what was damaged and what the "cure" is. I love this cam and it's in great shape other this issue. would really hate to have to replace it. Thanx!

The miniature electronics in these kinds of devices is quite delicate.
Could be a cracked board causing intermittent or a broken connection.
Probably only a closer look by someone qualified will pin it down further.

not enough info by about 99% there.. what kind of camcorder.. tape or solid state or disk?.. thats just for starters..

whatever.. the reality is if you need to ask in such general terms with such a vague description of the problem then the chances of being able to repair it yourself are less than minimal.. take it to a professional.. not just a camera shop either.. you need a real video electronics technician.
