Does anyone know when the currrent shipments of Sony DRU500A is due? Will it be enought to feed the demand? or any pricebreak on the horizon? i.e. is it worth waiting untill Feb?
There was a new shipment (in greece at least) the last week. I found it out on time and got one.... Probably there are not enough to feed the demand...They gave only 2-3 units per store. The store I bought mine from, had 3 and in a few hours he had sold 2 of them. I was waiting for it from August.
I ordered my direct from Sony in the states before the new year. They told me it might take 30 days for it only took 12. Don't rely on what the site says, call up and talk to someone and place your order via phone.
Did you know Sony has a $50 rebate on this drive until 1/31/03? I didn't. I ordered mine from Buy.com for $320 on the 14th of January. I hope it arrives in time to use the rebate. Here's the form... http://cache.bizrate.com/deal_pdf/73459--DRU500A.pdf
Yeah, I sent my request for rebate in already but when I ordered from SonyStyle, they said they knew nothing about this. I really like the drive so far but only I've only had it for 4 days.
