I recently bought a sony dvd burner model DRX810ul. I plugged it in properly and even downloaded the nero software they give you with it. The problem is when i look in "my computer", my dvd burner does not show up as a drive at all. When i try to burn dvd's, i am unable to because the computer seems to just not recognize my dvd burner. How do i make my computer recognize my dvd burner and show up as a disk drive?

Did you turn on the power in the rear of the drive. Are you using USB port or Firewire (1394) connection? Did you check the Device Manager?

The power in the back of the drive is on. I am using the USB port connection. In device manager, it sees the dvd burner as a USB mass storage device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Beside it, it has a yellow icon with an exclamation point by it. On properties it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
