Hi, I have a nintendo ds lite, and the top screen flickers on and off. Most of the time the top screen doesn't work. Could someone please tell me how this has happened and/or how to fix this. Thanx, Zac.
Broken / damaged cable - replace the top screen (it is attached to the cable) and it will be fine again, this happens as the cable goes across the hinge - so gets flexed a lot and therefore eventually breaks.
Could you please tell me what you mean by 'replace'. Do you mean go out and buy another one? If you do, then where and how much would this cost. Regards, Zac
Yes you need to replace (put in a new one)the top screen http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3161 This is a link to the part, if you have never taken a ds Lite apart before you will need a tri wing screwdriver and you have to solder the speakers to the screen. Read a few guides on taking the unit apart before you start, if you order the part from the link above - free postage & cheap - however it can take 3 weeks to arrive. A shop will do this for you for about £40 but if you can do it yourself its a lot cheaper as the screen is less than £7.50
