    Hi ,

Before I ask the question , let me just say that I have read posts on here and the amount of work that has gone into them in amazing . The guides have so much detail . Great work by all .

The problem for me is that ALL this information has confused me .

Secondly should the mods think that my question has been answered here before , by all means , close the thread and apologies from myself .

I have just bought 2 x DS Lite for my kids and want to "upgrade " (for want of a different word) them .

Do I need to get the ds real or simply ?
    Do I need a 2gb merory card ?
These are Slot 1 solution ?
What is slot 2 solution then? And do I even need to know ?

Basically I looking for someone( or many people) to tell me,
you need to get , X, Y and Z to get then most out of the consoles !
And where to get them etc etc etc

Listen thanks in advance for ANY advice given.

I'm new as well and I learn a few things these past few days.

    1) There is no more DS Simply.

    2) The M3 DS Real is the newest product that replace the Simply. M3 DS Real is consider one of the top DS carts.

    3) Some people are happy with 1gb. I'm getting 2gb since they are cheap (newegg.com if your American).

    4) Yes it is a Slot 1 solution.

    5) The Slot 2 M3 are added features. Rumble pack, memory expansion, and a GBA expansion (to play GBA roms).

    6) I have been suggested to buy from Divineo.com

I plan on buying the "M3 DS Real Perfect Package" because I want to play the GBA roms as well (FF6 anyone?).

If you plan on playing only DS games and not GBA games.

You can buy the cheaper packages.

http://www.realhotstuff.com/ is where I bought my Supercard (bought before any of the other fancier cards came out)

if you need more than one card here is the place to look they have good deals..

If you want to play DS & GBA games Supercard / Superkey are a good cheap way to go..(or you can flash your DS so you don't need the superkey)

Games need to be patched but it's not that big of a deal...

Site also has alot of other solutions to playing DS and GBA Games
    it's worth taking a look...

^^^ If flashing DS then you won't need the Superkey?

I'm still in a learning process.

For example the M3 DS Real Perfect.

If I want to play GBA roms I would need the GBA expansion. But... are the GBA roms being save on the expansion or the M3 DS Real DS cart? Just curious on that.

Hearing that I can flash the DS and not need to buy the super card would cut the cost of buying the DS cart stuff in half.

    Does Supercard have action replay?

    http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.supercard

I like dealextreme. Are of these the right cards?

    Thanks for your replies.

If i get the "M3 DS Real Perfect Package"
will this have games on it already ?

Can I add games to it ?

Can you tell me , Where can I get them ?!?!?!

Plus I also need to buy a Micro SD card also , is this correct ?

Yup that is the right thing. Price wise I'm not sure what is the average in the UK. I know in the USA it runs around $55-65 USD. 2gb MicroSD would be about $20-25 USD in a retail store (but I buy from newegg, an online computer store for about $9 USD + S/H).

Hopefully someone in the UK could chime in and help.

You should try searching first or make a new thread.

You won't get any attention here.

"^Sorry I forgot the UK doesn't use Euros.

    <--Bad Amerikan "

    LOL.
    Thanks for the info .
Im not in the UK but Ireland so its Euros all the way!!

    After finding this ,

    http://www.addictsupplies.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=22

    http://www.addictsupplies.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=18

Total cost is £47 sterling which currenlty is 59euro.

Are they compatable ? I have read here that the kingston is a good card but this site only has it in 2gb and I have been advised to get a 4gb, so..... Integral anyone ?

Also Anybody use this site before ?

    If so it
Seems good value compaired to the 106e in my earlier post .

The reason for wanting to keep the price down is I know once one of the kids gets this I will end up buying it for the others !!!

Feel like Im getting somewhere now and wont be bothering you anymore ;>) well not as much!

That M3 Real package does not have the GBA expansion but that is fine. If you and your kids plan on playing only the Nintend DS games and not the older Gameboy & Gameboy Advance games you will be fine.

The memory card is compatible but I'm not feeling the memory card. Never heard of Integral ever and since it is a SD-HC it should at least tell you what class it is.

    Class 2: 2 MB/s
    Class 4: 4 MB/s
    Class 6: 6 MB/s

    ------------------

I would suggest ordering the M3 base package (M3 real + rumble +card reader) from deal extreme.

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2728

They do ship worldwide (AND FREE!). Using google conversion I think $38 USD = $24 Euros (jeez... weak USD). From China to USA it usually takes about 2 weeks when I order from Deals extreme. It might be quicker for you. Deals extreme accepts paypal, that should help paying in USD form.

Unfortunately I don't see any class 6 microSD-HC anywhere on there. If possible, try to keep searching for a more reputable memory card. Kingston like you mention in your last post are a great company.

Before my M3 Real arrives I already have my DS Rom folder ready.

It has about 25 games and just a little over 1gb.

You can always buy a 1gb for very very very cheap and buy the 4gb later on.

20games for a children is rather alot if you think about it.

Opps I hit reply to early.

on Deals extreme the 1gb Kingston (Japan) = $5 euros

and the 2gb Kingston (Japan) = $7.5 euros

That is just one route to consider.

But if you manage to find a 4gb class 6 Kingston in Ireland let me know.

From what I learn, CycloDS seems to be the best perhaps but it cost quite a pretty penny. M3 Real is still rather a great card.

M3 real base (Just play DS games only) = $35 USD roughly

M3 Real perfect (play DS and GBA games) =$55 USD roughly

CycloDS Evo (plays just DS games only) = $55

If you want to play GBA games with the CylcoDS Evo you will need to purchase a GBA expansion which can cost $20-35 USD.

If you are not into homebrew applications I wouldn't bother with the cycloDS. M3 would be more than enough.

From what I've read at GBATemp and some other places the M3 Real is horrible to use (at least according to some) compared to some other offerings.

I'm personally considering getting a DSTT or Acekard2, or maybe even R4DS.
