Hello everyone i've seen a few questions about how to download a film on to a ds lite using m3/r4's moonshell with a decent loudness and quality. When i first put a film onto my ds it was so quiet i could hardly hear it even using the head phones didnt really make much difference so here's what i did i know most will know this by now but some may not so here goes!
First you will need DVDFAB PLATINUM. open the program and select the sorce of where your film is to be ripped from then select somewhere to have the film encoded to. after these two simple steps click on to the list on the left hand side and select NDS! This will make sure your films encoded to play on the NDS moonshell now click the next button located at the bottom right of the program. Now you should have the film title on your screen on your right in the profile coloum should say nds.dpg.mpeg1 ect now click configure this will bring a new page up now where it say VIDEO FORMAT: MPEG1 change the bitrate (KPS) to max (this is a slide bar so slide it all the way to max) next to the slide bar you will notice that when you move the bar it increases the film size in mega bites (MB) this is increases the quality of the film and its sound quality. Now below that in AUDIO FORMAT:MP2 change this bar to max also!! (will change to 500% vol instead of 100%) now just check that the frame resolution is set to 256x192 this will make your picture fit the WHOLE ds screen (this option is next to the VIDEO FORMAT the first bar you moved)now click ok this will return you back to yor previous screen click the ok start button on the bottom right this will now encode your film to the folder you first chose. after the full film has encoded put the film onto your ds lite by your m3/r4 and run your moonshell find the film and play it with the volume on the ds turn up now hold the X BUTTON on the ds pad this will turn the sound right up since you have encoded the film to 500% vol you can keep your finger on x button till the films at 500 vol then you can turn it down using the vol on the ds or Y button REMEBER ITS A BALANCE TO GET THE FILMS SOUND RIGHT TURNING IT TO ITS MAX MAY DISTORT THR SOUND i found that turnin the vol half way on my ds and having the vol on my moonshell set to about 400 made a very loud and good clear sound best regards dave

Thanks for the info. I know of many people that have complained about the audio not being loud enough.
