DS R4 and Game boy games.

    Does the NDS work with an R4 Card that holds gameboy original games?
    Or does the actual emulator forbid it altogether?

    Google lameboy. Its a gameboy color emulator for the DS that should let you play any gameboy and gameboy color roms. It runs at full speed on most games, and only minor slowdown on others.

    Could you get something like the R4 card from say british stores such as argos? or even Currys?

    I dont know those stores, but outside hong kong or china the only place to get flashcarts is online-only stores. Dealextreme.com is generally the cheapest and has free shipping, but expect to wait 2-3 weeks for shipping.

    I wouldn't buy an R4 though. Just look on the front page here and see how many people are having problems with an R4 compared to other cards. You should get a CycloDS, an Acrkard2i or an M3Real. They cost more than the R4 but have more features and are generally more reliable.
