The hinge on my ds lite died.the screen just flops all over the place. is there anyway to fix this? would a shell replacement do this? image: anyhelp?
Yes it would, a variety of places sll the replacement shells (need a tri wing screwdriver as well) Try dealextreme.com for a good price unit.
yeah try www.dealextreme.com for shell replacements and also buy a hinge replacement Repair Parts Flip-Open Screen Shaft (sku.15853). i read somewhere that if u dont change the hinge shaft/barrel, the casing hinge may crack again.
i tried replacing my old ds lites shell. it didnt work out too well. the casing looked cool, but it was made poorly so it didnt fit right in some places. and when i finally finished, the ds just wouldnt turn on anymore. luckily i tried it on an old ds that i didnt need anymore.
