Help Please! Nintendo DS ActionReplay won't link to computer..."Waiting For DS"?
Ok,I just bought an DS Action Replay yesterday from walmart. I'm currently running on Windows XP. I've installed the ActionReplayCode manager software onto my computer. Once it finished downloading,I turn on my DS and went to the mouse menu. Then afterwards I turn on the ActionReplayCodeManager on my computer. And when it comes on,I connect the USB cable onto the computer and DS. Afterwards,,I've installed the USB software onto my computer. Then, when it's installed I close the ActionReplayCodeManager and re-opened it. Now I still have the USB cord connected to my computer and then when I'm on Action ReplayCode Manager, it just keep saying "Waiting For DS" when I already have my DS and computer connected with eachother! Need help with this one please.

    Failed solutions:
Unplugging and reconnect the USB over.
    Re-Installing the CD
    ARCM Reset Code

well for one, your AR is in your DS, is it not? it will not work unless it is separate from the DS. Plus, As I own 3 of them, I know that lots are defective and cannot be connected at all. Chances are that your's is not defective, but I only own 3 because I lost one and the second one was defective. Your problem is most likely the fact that the Action Replay is in the DS upon connection. Remove it and try again.

I have no idea what you are talking about Tox.

Wobbuffet, put the AR in the DS. Put the cable in the AR and in the computer. Turn on the DS. Let it boot and come up to the "Insert Game Cart" screen. Fire off the Action Replay Code Manager from your PC. It should say "Waiting for DS" for a minute before it finds it. the DS screen will go to "Updating".

    Report back.

Nothing happening with what? Your DS won't boot? What? Need more info.

Does the AR work just in the DS without trying to connect?

At first blush it sounds like a AR installation problem to me. Did it install all the goofy drivers? It is a wierd installation.

    mfc71.dll
    msvcp71.dll
    msvcr71.dll

Also these dll files should be there.

Need more info on what it is doing.

Does the AR work just in the DS by itself?

How long are you waiting? If the DS says updating then the AR knows it is plugged in. Are you giving it some time to work? Especially if you have a slow machine. You said XP- what are the specs on your box?

Doesn't look like a problem with the capability of the machine.

Did you try the reinstall after reading the install post I made?

I still think it is an installation and driver issue. It doesn't have the driver installed correctly to be able to see the AR.

If you are brave, try this:

    http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=50367

Post #6 on that page. I think it is the NDS Link driver.

If after you do the above or if you don't want to, and if the USB port you are using is verified as good, and then I would be tempted to follow Toxonic advice and take the thing back. If you do a straight up even exchange at Wal-Mart, they probably won't even bat an eye.

Get a new one and try again. I'm betting it won't work any better than the one you have, but I could be wrong.
