Hi, I was looking for something to backup my games. Searching i found various options. And i came across with the ds-extreme thing. Has any one any information about this particular one?? would i need to buy something else?? or any other recommendation?? TIA !
From what I can tell, most people will recommend you purchase an M3 instead of the ds-extreme because most people want to be able to use the upgradable storage. The current DS-X is only 512 MB of storage space, however the new one should ship middle of April, and is 2 GigaBYTES of storage space (I hate the 4 gigabit, 16 gigabit crap they pull). Anyway, if you can live with the high price, and the set amount of storage space, it should be a good product. Otherwise check out the M3's I would suppose. And if you do get the ds-x, you wouldn't need anything else, unless you wanted to play backups of your legally owned GBA games, I don't think it does that.
http://www.ds-xtra.com/Homebrew_Directory Also a video of some Homebrew games for the DS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1psN2r_nBsA And a video of NESDS and a sega emulator for the DS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwd0J1bM-Og video of the firmware (caution may jack up your ds-X) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgIOrcIX5kI Video after i put new Firmware 1.1.0 on DS-X http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgIOrcIX5kI[/center] Basic Video of how and whare to get Roms and unzip them to a DS-X card Probly beter not link this one... just search for it on You tube. just look up ds-x its not a bad card.. its easy to use easy to move files to (just plug in the USB and go) the R4 and ds simpley you have to mess with thr little Memory sticks So to move a file over . you take chip out of card ..put it in a reader put it in to the PC move it over .. take card out ut it back in card then go. dosent sound liek much but it's a pain and the memory chip is so little esy to loose . And it make a strange click when you put it in. And dosent want to stay in some time's But it looks like a Better made card than the DS-x
Yes you can play clean back up images of your games on a DS- Extreme. I know they are pricy but I have just purchased the newer 2GB one. Will see how it goes when I get it. Better write up of it posted here.
