Has anyone heard whether manufacturers are producing -R dual layer? Seems +R is now out, but my writer only writes to -R. Is it true there are more compatability problems with +R than -R? Thanks
If you do not have a dual layer burner you can't burn dual layer media. At the present time only +R dual layer burners are available and some +r media to match. From reading your post I think you have a single layer burner. You can't use dual layer media. Jerry
Thanks Jerry, Yes I realsie I can't burn to a dual layer disc with the writer I have but I prefer the -R format seems more compatible. Do most set top DVD players read +R now?
You're right, -R seems to be more compatible. I guess time will tell if -R dual layer will show up. I'm sticking with my single layer until I see media prices come way down. Most newer players are dual format but best to ask the sales person to make sure. Jerry
If you are asking about dual layer media its about $15. each. Someone posted they saw them at about $8. each but I haven't seen that price yet. In time it will come down but right now thats too much if you burn a coaster. Jerry
