Note, I'm fairly new to multi monitoring, but I've got a Geforce 6800 PCI-E hooked up and ready to go with dual monitors. Everything is working fine as far as the dual monitors go, but here's the problem: I want to run a full screen program on the secondary display, without making it the primary display. For example, I can play full screen games on the primary monitor, but when I click on anything in the secondary, it minimizes the game. If I can put the game on the secondary monitor then I believe it would fix this problem. The dual monitor mode I am using is Dualview, which, rather than cloning or spanning, lets the monitors run independently of each other. If worse comes to worse, I could put the program in windowed mode, but this creates the problem that it will display in the resolution of the primary monitor, and there's a big difference in resolution between the two (19' [Primary] versus 46'[Secondary]). Any help is appreciated, and if you need any further information, I'd be glad to give it.
i dont understand what you mean by dual view? what effect does this give? from my idea of this i think that Games wouldn't have a different perspective just for dual monitors.. please explain... im probably wrong but i just dont know
Dualview is a term that nvidia uses -- essentially it's just span mode (move right on one screen to get to the second monitor, and left on the second to get to the first), but it doesn't span the toolbar across the second monitor. I think that's the only difference. I've decided that it's not really important for me to run the programs on the second monitor anymore, but I appreciate the help.
I am having the same prob. I play EQ on mon2, and in full-screen mode it will minimize if I click on mon1. Is there any fix for this besides playing EQ in windowed mode? Help me!!! lol
download and try ultramon, its a program made to do what you want. it will put the taskbar on the secondary monitor as well, and will let you set up programs to open and run on whichever monitor you want.
