    Hello,

Trying to duplicate a VHS tape. I output from the source video using the "Out" RCA Jacks into the destination video using the "IN" RCA Jacks, but I just get static on the destination tape.

I also tried running the RCA jacks to the Television, and then outputing from the TV to the destination video, and even though I can see the tape playing on the TV, I get the same result.

Any suggestions or pointers to resources on this?

You should just connect the RCA jacks to the out on the playing machine and to in on the recording machine. You may have to set the video source on the recording VCR to Line or something. If you have it hooked up properly you should be able to see it on-screen as well.

Of course you can't duplicate commercial tapes this way because of the Macrovision on them but for dubbing home movies or stuff you have recorded yourself it works well.

    Hi,

It might be the Line, will try that later. No copy protection is on the source tape, it is one that I created using my camcorder.

    Thanks for the pointers
