I've just converted a 60 minute DV Video from my camcorder but the problem is that it turned out to be almost 9GB...How can I compress the video so it can fit on a regular DVD-R.

I mean the DVD-R can only fit 4.7G

What setting do I change Nero to or how can I compress the taped video?

I'm new to this stuff, but from what I've read, that's normal. Most people have said that it's usually about 13 gigs for every hour of footage.

You say "converted"? What do you mean? If you only transferred the DV over Firewire it is not converted and in this case it will be around 13GB per hour.
If you want to create a DVD you will need to encode it to MPEG-2.
To understand the involved steps from getting it from your camcorder to DVD check the articles in the basic section of http://www.digitalvideoclub.com
