Many apologies if this has been answered before but.... I am currently trying to back up my DVD collection to DVD -R, DVD 5 DVD's I can back up no problem, however when trying to backup DVD 9 or DVD's larger than 4.blahblah GB using DVD dercyptor and dvd shrink on windows XP with FAT file system :-(, and as I do not have nero I am simply creating image on HD for placement on DVD -R at a later date, it gets to a certain point and crashes informing that I do not have enough space on my HD (I have plenty of space on HD about 50 GB available) I am pressuming this is due to my FAT file system not liking files of this size??? OK now I have summed up, and made very litle sense, my questions are. 1. If indeed my problem is due to my FAT is there a way around this? 2. I can Create the VIDEO_TS??? type folders using DVD shrink, but as I do not have Nero and cannot install it due to issues with my home movie software (which unfortunately is slightly more important to me) is there any other (FREE) software that will allow me to burn these files? Thanks very much in advance and I hope this makes some sort of sense to someone. D

You can convert your FAT or FAT 32 drives to NTFS. NTFS is what you should be using on XP. The only reason to use a FAT file system is if you are also running another OS like Win98-ME or Linux. Even if that is the case you should make a NTFS partition for XP to use. Open Help and Support and search for Convert NTFS or Partition to get directions. If you don't want to convert to NTFS or Make a NTFS partition there is another option. You can use a free program called AutoShrinkISO. It works with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. It has the option to split the ISO image for use on FAT 32 drives. Hi Folks, I'm after a bit more help.....I have now installed Autoshrink (for short term purposes until I get round to converting to NTFS) however, when I installed Autoshrink and after setting required parameters I was recieving a Registry Error (something along the lines of 'HKEY_LOCAL/BLAH/BLAH/BLAH/dvdshrink3.1/TargetSizeMB registry key not found'.......I have since added this file that it was looking for in my registry which got rid of the error and opened up dvdshrink.....However when creating the TargetSizeMB registry key I was asked for the file size, I have tried a range different sized numbers in here but I am still receiving the 'NOT ENOUGH DISC SPACE ERROR' when trying to back up.....Any chance someone could tell me... A) What should the file size be in the TargetSizeMB registry key. B) Am I doing something else wrong. I must stress again that I do have plenty of disc space left on my hard drive. Once again I hope this will make some sense to someone and I thank you for your time. D
I don't use AutoshrinkISO anymore since DVD Shrink added the option to use DVD Decrypter on my NTFS drive. I don't remember ever seeing that error when I used it in the past. The default size in DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6 is 4464MB. In Registry Editor it should say 0x00001170(4464) If you right click on that value and select Modify it is. 1170 Base Hexadecimal 4464 Base Decimal
