    i just have tested dvd2one
    (www.dvd2one.com)

this soft have reencoded my movie , keeping original audio and subtitles
all what you have to do is encode the source path (where your rip is)
    destination path
chosse languages and audio you want to keep

    and wait 20 minutes......

great great , result is perfect !!!

It does state that they do not recommend nero to burn as the compatibilty issues seem to be hit and miss.

However as we are only doing are own BACKUPS THAT WE OWN then the method used is relative to YOUR standalones.

I am currently using nero with no compatibility issues.
Using just the UDF option in most cases and it works great with dvd2one!!!!!!!!!

how much did you pay for it? about 40 bucks! was it worth it? Better than running REMPEG2 to recompress. Takes too long, 4 to 5 hours and I had some problems with some movies, some pixelation and jitters using REMPEG2. You're a lucky guy Groove!!!

It does not mean the death of other issues, as it does not allow menus, extras and full quality etc. Use DVDxCOPY, or multisoftware solutions for that (back to the forums I'm afraid!)

Pleased you like the software. Keep references to cracks out of the forum and encourage others to buy software like this.

    This DVD2one is great.
I tested it this weekend and works fine.
Copied the movie, after using DVD decrypter first, in about 25 minutes.

I use DVDxCopy when the movie will fit on one DVD+r and DVD2one to get a larger movie (>4.7gb) to fit on one.

Does DVD2One, keep original chapters? can you specify the file size?, so you can re-link the original menuis back?

Yes. No. Yes, with MakeItEasy (from doom9.org), but requires lots of tweaking.

Do you really feel it is necessary to rip the *whole* movie (as per the article), when ripping just the main movie vob set seems to work equally as well? (Saves disc-space & time). Results=same. Like Paul says, just be sure to rip the associated .ifo file.

Maintaining original chapter-stops is an awesome achievement with a transcoded file.

I just think it would be nice, to have the front end menu + extra etc..
no 1 has written a piece of software to do this task in 1 easy step. Yeah its a great piece of kit for ripping just the main movie. I would personally like to keep the original menus from my movies.

sython: Then I recommend using DVDXCopy and not compromise the movie quality.

In the weeks and months to come, I think we're going to see a LOT of different software packages emerge that will allow us to do either, and both. Seem 'backing up' in general is on a heavy roll these days.

('bout time too). As kind as TMPGEnc has been to me over the last two years (vcds), I wasn't really looking forward to another 2 years's-worth of seeing that progress bar creep across the screen once every 15 hours-or-so.

I bought this 3 days ago coz I was fed up with my pc churning away for 6 hours re-encoding with REMPEG2. So far only done 3 dvd's and all hits. How on earth does this software do it so fast? Some clever thinkin gone into this. Well worth the £32.

By the way anyone got any views on the best DVD-R's to use? I am using TraxData purple and FWS at the moment.

Oh yes and how cute is drD's ass?

    Later.

Glad to see you like the software.

dRDs ass is not actually as cute as I had imagined, although I have the good fortune to be facing him when we met earlier this week ;-)

Look in the DVD-R media forum for the verdict on those DVD-Rs.

    Paul.

PS It does it fast by Compressing, not encoding.

    (I can't resist....)

    >>> .. is not actually as cute as I had imagined... had the good fortune to be facing him.... <<<

There's a cute line in the movie "Grumpier Old Men" (Jack Lemon/Walter Matthau) - "If I had a dog whose face looked like yours, I'd shave his ass and teach him to walk backwards!"

    <hee-hee>
