First off im a newbie so if Im making a retard mistake that would be why. So I just got Sony's DVD architect and made my first dvd with it but it seems that the video that I inserted is to large and will not fit in the safe area so it ends up cropping off close to an inch off of both sides. I encoded the video files in Tmpg as 720x480 16x9 and have the dvd properties in DVD architect set for 720x480 widescreen. Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem?
    Thanks for the help

DVD Architect Shouldn"t be doing anything to your File if it is DVD Compliant...Meaning if you encoded the File in tmpgenc then all DVD architect is doing is Putting it on to DVD but it doesn"t do anything to the way the Video Looks Unless it is Re-Encodeing the File which it should not do if it is allready DVD Compliant....

So I suspect that either it is Tmpgenc that is Cropping the Image to Make it into a widescreen Movie or it is your TV set"s Overscan that is Cropping off the edges which all TV sets do(All TV sets will Crop off from 10% to 15% of the Frame all arround the Image).....

So I suggest that you try different settings in tmpgenc to see if you can get the Image to look the way you want and do not use programs Like Media Player to preview your Mpeg files because it will never display Mpeg Video properly as it allways Ignores the aspect Ratio Flags in the Mpeg-2 file.....

So does this explain why when I preview the video in DvD architect that it shows the video going outside the safe area. Im mainly asking how do I get the video to fit inside the "safe area" in DVD architect.
    Thanks for your help minion

To Get all of the Video Inside the safe area you will have to encode the File in Tmpgenc that way...You will have to add a Border arround the Image so that the Border takes up the Space outside the safe area and all of the Frame is inside the Safe area...In Tmpgenc you can set this up in the "Clip frame" settings in the advanced settings Page when you are encodeing to Mpeg-2......
