What program will allow to me to take the home dvd movie I have recorded and cut out only sections minute 1 threw 3 and minutes 16 threw 17? I have tried nero movie creator and you can only cut the beginnings and ends out of clips but i want to cut middle parts of the clips out. what program to use?

Well, you can do that through nero or similar programs but it's kind of a roundabout way, you need to use the split function. Basicly what you do is this: Split the video at the 1 minute mark, then the second (the one with the remaining video) at the 2 minute mark (what would have been the 3 minute mark in the original). This will leave you with a 1 minute video clip (the first minute and the clip I will call #1), a 2 minute video clip (the time between the 1 min mark and the 3 min mark that I will call #2) and the remaining video in the 3rd clip (clip #3) then set each clip up in a timeline and have it play 1,3 with no transitions. You could then repeat this process with the 16-17 cut as well. In the past I've done basic things like this with Windows movie maker, and saved it in a VERY high resolution format then re-encoded to whatever format I wish to save it in from there to avoid as much loss as possible. Hope this idea helps and good luck.
