I have use canopus procoder to create a dvd but what do I use now to author them and what exactly does authoring mean and could anyone please tell me exactly how ot do it? Is it possible to use nero for this?
Authoring takes your finished mpg that Canopus produced, and writes it into the correct DVD structure, so a standalone player can play it. Common popular authoring apps are DVDLab and Tmpgenc DVD Author. These allow for chapters and menus and all sorts of cool stuff on menus. If you don't want/need that sort of thing, and just want a disk that will automatically play when you put it in the player, get ReJig, click on DVD Author. You will have to get Canopus to output elementary streams instead of a muxed mpg though, or demux your mpg in another program. Tmpgenc plus 2.5 has MPEG Tools that can do it easily.
The films that i download arent that bad a quality and this seems like a very long process and i was just wondering if it was really worth it?
If you want to watch them on a standalone player, there are MANY ways to get what you want from a downloaded film. There's fast, good, and cheap. You can have any TWO of those. 1.) You can have it fast and cheap, but poor quality. 2.) You can have it fast and good, but not cheap. 3.) You can have it good and cheap, but not fast. Which one do you want?

Hi, I have a question about headers... I converted my VCDs (dat files) to mpeg files and when I tried to open them in TMPGenc it said that I needed a header, therefore, I couldn't open the files. Any ideas on how to create a header.
